This user guide introduces the Broadband/Baseband AC (BBAC) instrument in the FLEX tester. The BBAC instrument is used to source and capture AC signals at a frequency of less than 15 MHz. There are two source channels and two captures channel on BBAC, each of which can operate in either a single-ended mode or differential mode. The resolution of BBAC is 16 bits.
An example test program is developed to illustrate the steps to program the BBAC instrument. This is done by verifying the cut-off frequency of a 1st-order RC low-pass filter (LPF). A sine wave is sent into the device under test (DUT), and the output waveform is captured and analyzed to observe the behavior of the LPF.
