Description

BEEcube Platform Studio (BPS) enables BEEcube system users to develop and implement designs from a system-level Simulink-based development environment. From the BPS front end, you can generate the FPGA bitstream file that is downloaded and runs on the BEE system FPGA(s). BPS implements a processor-based system using Xilinx Platform Studio (XPS), including the Xilinx MicroBlaze processor and Nectar OS software kernel, which allows you to directly interact with the FPGA once it is programmed.

This application note demonstrates how to develop a software project in the Xilinx SDK from the MicroBlaze processor system automatically generated by the BEEcube Platform Studio flow. By having the capability to modify the FPGA system software, you can add custom instructions, applications, and user interface functions without modifying and regenerating the system hardware.
