Complimentary with a CMC Account - - Prior to March 2016, more than 500 photonics projects from academia and industry were fabricated through CMC, using Canadian and international process technology and packaging expertise.* This report features over 100 photonics projects utilizing Canada’s NDN within the past two years. It provides a view into the prototyping activities of researchers in Canadian post-secondary institutions – often in the context of applications and solving problems. It presents Canada’s National Design Network (NDN) which is part of a national (and global) ecosystem that gains value from photonics.

*Update: as of March 2018, researchers have fabricated more than 700 projects in photonics and optoelectronics, including more than 500 silicon photonics projects, through CMC Microsystems
