Description

Prepared by Martin Zoller, IAESTE Intern at CMC Microsystems, MSc student, Department of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering, ETH Zurich, Switzerland.

This application note describes how to create technology packages for dw-2000 to set up custom layer definitions. Although the layers may always be re-defined in dw-2000 libraries, the parameterized cells and scripts of a Technology Package normally use a predefined layer stack. The presented approach replaces the built-in dialog window Criterion Definitions and offers additional configuration options. It updates design rules and other settings when the layer definitions are changed.

The application note is intended for researchers interested in writing their own customizable Technology Package or data conversion functions in dw-2000.
