This application note describes how to use MATLAB (from MathWorks: http://www.mathworks.com/products/matlab/) to store and represent data effectively from Crossbow IRIS motes.
This solution is made platform-portable by using Java, XML, and virtual serial ports. You can analyze the data on one PC, or transmit the data over the internet to a remote PC running MATLAB. You can use MATLAB to display the data, plot it graphically in real-time, and store it to disk if required.
The information in this application note is useful to develop applications that stream data from Crossbow motes and to collect data in XML format.
