Description

Prepared by Chao Fan, PhD Candidate under the supervision of Dr. Siyuan He, Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering, Ryerson University, in co-operation with CMC Microsystems.

This application note describes the design and implementation of the open-loop control of a MEMS Micromirror. The whole system is based on the Microsystem Integration Platform (MIP) micromirror variant which is distributed through CFI’s emSYSCAN project. This design example describes how to generate a control signal for the FPGA using DMA FIFO to implement the data transfer between the host controller and the FPGA card and how to use the block memory on the FPGA to save the control data for on-line processing.
